MSTS
The McGill Students' Trading Society is a multi-faceted society open to all students in all faculties at McGill University. MSTS is centred around the trading industry and looks to raise awareness on three main points of focus: the stock market, trading strategies, and healthy trading mentalities. MSTS serves the student community by committing itself to provide information and resources for all students on campus interested in learning more about the trading industry.
OUR STRUCTURE
The MSTS is a student-run society dedicated to raising awareness of the stock market, trading strategies, and healthy trading mindsets. We aim to help our members develop systematic approaches to trading. Our meetings will be primarily platforms of discussion. Our team will discuss financial theory and its applications.
WHY JOIN THE MSTS
Our society provides a variety of benefits. Learn about the different securities and the types of investment vehicles. Better understand how and why institutions raise capital. Develop an economic outlook and learn to navigate the business cycles. Learn the skills needed to form and actively manage your own portfolio. Learn the foundations of risk management techniques. Learn how to better analyze relevant news and its effects on financial markets. Finally, learn a variety of trading strategies in different markets!
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our goal is to hold bi-weekly meetings. These sessions will help students develop a systematic approach to trading. Our objective is to help remove the emotional biases and inhibiting factors that can often affect trading. In doing so, we strive to help our members better perform while executing their trading strategies.
OUR GOAL
At the McGill Students' Trading Society, we seek to provide students from all different academic backgrounds with an introduction to trading and its importance in both one's personal life and in the professional environment. Through our workshops and events, we teach our members the most crucial and significant impacts and applications of trading and are always interested in our member's thoughts and ideas on these topics as well.

Our team puts on a number of workshops throughout the year discussing various topics around trading and related industries. See our resources tab to access old workshops, containing topics such as breaking into finance, fundamental trading topics, python for finance, and more.
